Abha Light Health Centres In Kenya
Treating All With Homeopathy And Natural Medicine
The Abha Light Vision

The Abha Light programme is more than just a single health clinic. Our goal is to provide alternative and affordable health care throughout Kenay & Africa. To do this we have a vision of training Kenyans in the complex art of natural medicine and, as they qualify, open affiiate clinics as far and wide as possible. Our first group of 5 trainees graduated in April 2002 and the second group of students graduated in 2003. Now we have 25 students in training.

Abha Light promotes low-cost affordable medicine in our health centre at Kariobangi slum, Mathare slum and other clinics. Through homeopathy and natural medicine, we treat any type of disease that may be presented at the clinics, however about 15% or more of our cases are HIV-related. We have developed successful case management and treatment protocols in HIV, Malaria and TB.

The Abha Light Heath Centres

Several of our health centres give special focus on serving HIV/AIDS patients. We provide the following services:
»   Homeopathic medicine as the primary therapy to control secondary infections and raise the auto-immune response in the patient.
»   Naturopathic and nutritional support. Food supplements are supplied to boost the nutritional intake and support the auto-immune system. Some suitable natural sources are sprouts, neem, honey and wheat grass juice. We are researching other natural herbs.
»   HIV/AIDS Self-Help Group. PWLAs help each other to solve their problems, develop a positive outlook, and support each other in times of need. The group meets weekly to hand stitch cushions for sale.

The clinics offer effective, natural, drug-free treatment to AIDS management. The protocol produces no negative side-effects and has been shown by our patients to be effective in controlling opportunistic infections and HIV viral loads as evident by better health and improved quality of life. Naturopathy and nutrition play an important role. Thus the problem of the high cost of conventional HIV/AIDS treatment is circumvented through alternative means including nutritional support and complementary medicines.

»   Abha Light Mobile Clinics

Through invitations Abha Light sends out teams to rural towns and villages to open moblie clinics.

We welcome therapists or healers of any complementary medicine or therapy to come and join us on these mobiles.

»   New Clinics to be Opened
The graduates of the training programme will eventually set up permanent clinics in place of the mobile clinics Abha Light aims to target rural dwellers and slum residents as students of this programme and encourages them to eventually return to their communities with low-cost health care.
