The Ghana Centre opened up in October 2006. It's a project of
AMURT and a partner to Abha Light Foundation. Linda Shannon (UK) is the project patron.
Sheila Ryan (UK) came along with Linda from UK as Didi Ruchira and Joseph N'thiwa, student of Abha Light came from Kenya to kick off the project with a 1st Aid seminar. It was attended by about 25 people.
The project has started with 2 centres in Accra and 1 village mobile clinic. The concept of the project is to serve the people with the
3 A's: Affordable Accessible & Alternative health care for economically constrained households and villages in Ghana
Didi Ananda Ruchira, director of Abha Light Foundation (Kenya) took time to meet with various institutions and groups. In the photo, she is presenting her book, Great Health, Naturally! to the Ghana government's Ghana AIDS Commission director.
Joseph and Didi also conducted a workshop on the herbal uses of the Neem tree. In the photo Joseph is cleaning leaves with one of the workshop participants.
