GREAT HEALTH, NATURALLY! outlines how a Person Living with HIV/AIDS (PLA) can access Immune-Based & Nutritional Therapy to strengthen the immune system for as little as Ksh 200 - 1500 a month. For Kenyans, this is a unique and timely book.
"Immune-Based & Nutritional Therapy" means using nutrition and the Nature to enhance the immune system to work, as opposed to drug treatments (ARVs). Immune-Based Therapies are natural, have no side-effect, are effective, assessible and affordable for the average Kenyan or African. It is the only affordable and self-care treatment for controlling HIV/AIDS.
GREAT HEALTH, NATURALLY! is intended for PLAs for self-care, families of PLAs, health care providers, counsellors, nutritionists and home-based caretakers.
This book contains vital & useful information that should be made available to every PLA. It is the first book of it's kind to be published in Kenya. It can be sold throughout Africa.
It is being distributed at the lowest possible cost so that it can be made available to every interested PLA.
Chapter 4, Step3A New Strategy to Treat HIV/AIDS:
Decrease the pH of the Colon
It has taken 15 years to find out where most of the HIV is located in the body and where most of the CD4's are destroyed and all the scientific evidence points to the intestines.
Published research has found that in HIV+ persons, up to
86% of HIV virus is concentrated in the intestines. The colon is a critical area. If the pH of the colon is higher than 6,0, free-floating HIV is active, can infect new CD4 cells and continue reproducing, but
when the pH in the colon is less than 6,0, free-floating HIV permanently loses its ability to infect new cells.
The implications of changing the pH of the colon are profound. It leads us to a new strategy to control HIV infection
indefinitely: lower the pH of the colon by natural means to 6,0 or less and sGo to Top HIV replication in that place where the highest concentrations have been found the intestines. We should find that the HIV viral load drops dramatically and CD4's increases steadily.
Q: What about HIV mutation or resistance? Won't the HIV virus mutate and make this strategy ineffective?
A: Here, there is no question of viral resistance or mutation resistance developing to an acidic colon, as acids attack the virus' outer layer which is not where viral mutations occur. HIV cannot replicate in an acidic environment. Cancer cells, too, are affected by the acidity or alkalinity of the intestines. Cancer patients will also benefit from this strategy.
Healthy Stools the Sign of Healthy Intestines and Digestion
The connection between the colon's pH, a high CD4 count and a low viral load count is now understood.
Now, let's add another fact to our understanding: The pH is directly linked to the
presence or absence of acid-producing friendly intestinal bacteria in the colon. When friendly lactic acid producing bacteria are in the colon, they produce short-chain fatty acids that make the stool lighter than water. A sign of healthy intestines are "floaters" (stools that float in the toilet bowl). Such stools are linked to rising CD4 counts in HIV+ persons. When the stools sink ("sinkers"), its a sign that the CD4's go down. Persons with HIV, hepatitis, cancer and chronic candidiasis, who are not recovering from these conditions have all consistently reported sinking stools and clear urine.
The Signs of Healthy and Unhealthy Stools
Sometimes "floaters" are caused by a diet too high in fat. The high-fat content of the stools may cause the stools to float giving you a false reading on the health of your colon. Test yourself by trying a low-fat diet for a few days. Then if your stools sink, it means the floaters were due to a high-fat diet and not a healthy colon. When stools float in persons on a high-fibre, low-fat diet, it usually means that good intestinal flora are producing short-chain fatty acids that cause them to float in water.
Healthy Stools Lead to Healthy Urine
If you think you have healthy stools and good intestinal flora, then your urine will have a light yellow colour.
The reason is that friendly intestinal flora produce vitamin B which our bodies need. (That's why they are "friendly"!) Vitamin B
2 is one factor that will turn your urine yellow. If enough intestinal flora are producing B vitamins for you, the colour of the urine should be light yellow and clear. If the urine is clear (colourless), it means your colon does not have sufficient friendly bacteria to produce the B vitamins you need _ which means you do not have enough friendly bacteria to lower the pH of your colon. As a result, your urine will be clear and not yellow, your stools will sink not float in the toilet bowl.
Note: If you are taking vitamin B supplements, then sGo to Top it for 24 hours before checking the colour of your urine.
Another note: Urine that is dark yellow means you are not drinking enough water, so drink more water!
Seven Ways to a Healthy Colon
A diet high in fibre + pectin and sterols
Probiotics (maziwa
mala, yogurt)
Aloe vera flush
Garlic to kill parasites and HIV
Raw cabbage
Coconut milk /oil to kill candida and HIV (See page 63.)
Enemas to clean out and lower the pH of the
colon
|
Q: What can I do to improve my colon health?
A:(a) Directly by daily enemas with a little vinegar added (about 1 tablespoon per pint or quart of water). (b) A diet high in fiber/pectin and foods like cabbage, artichokes and raw garlic that support the growth of friendly intestinal flora. (c) Taking probiotics that produce lactic acid and acetic acid in the large intestines. (d) Stimulate your appetite. Chew your food properly. Make good food choices that improve digestion.
Q: If I follow these suggestions and get healthy large-diameter, floating stools, does it mean the pH of my colon is below 6,0?
A: We
know that healthy stools indicate a lower pH in the colon, but at the present time, there is not enough data to confirm it really goes below 6,0. You still must actually measure the pH of the stools to find out exactly what it is. This is a test that a physician or lab can order for you.
Q: How can I lower the pH, produce B vitamins and digestive enzymes that fight cancers, viruses and fungus?
A: Simple! Let friendly intestinal flora go to work for you.
Fibre + Pectin + Probiotics = Normal
Stools
Dr. Balch in his book
Prescription for Natural Healing describes seven kinds of fibre that exist in foods. They are
bran, pectin, cellulose, hemicellulose, lignan, gums and mucilages.
Bran, containing sterols, is found in the outer portion of whole grains has been found to lower cholesterol,
prevent colon cancer, obesity, hemorrhoids, reduce high blood pressure and balance blood sugar levels. Researchers have
found that bran and other forms of fibre lowers the pH of the colon and promotes the rapid growth of good intestinal
flora. Fermentation of the fibre in the large intestines by friendly flora produces butyric acid that helps to heal the
mucus membranes. Sterols, found in the bran portion of whole grains, reduce cortisol levels that weaken the intracellular
cement that holds the mucus membranes together. Bran is found in "ordinary" posho-milled maize meal
(unga) and in whole wheat brown bread. Significant amounts of water soluble fibre is also found in oatmeal or unpolished millet
(wimbi).
The pH of the colon can be lowered by a diet high in fibre. A high-fibre diet, pectin and foods like cabbage,
cowpea leaves, carrots and raw garlic support the growth of friendly intestinal flora.
Other good high-fibre foods are green bananas, orange-coloured fruits and vegetables (mangos, papaya, squash,
pumpkin, carrots) and whole grain foods such as "ordinary" maize meal, brown bread and unpolished rice.
A newly developed formula we call
"Perfect Stool Formula" will restore healthy stools, economically and
tastefully. The formula contains 3 vital elements:
psyllium husks, pectin (or bran) and fermented milk
(maziwa mala or yogurt) or fermented cabbage juice. You can make Perfect Stool Formula yourself (See page 21).
|
Perfect Stool Formula
|
8 parts psyllium ("Sat-isabgol" or "Fibrogel")
3 parts commercially available pectin
Mix these two ingredients together and store in a clean glass jar.
Take 1 tablespoon of this mixture and mix into
2 teaspoons of probiotic formula
or ½ cup of maziwa mala or yogurt or fermented cabbage juice or a teaspoon of probiotic mixture* + ½ cup water
You can increase the benefits of this drink by adding any of the following:
1 tablespoon fresh wheatgrass juice made from sterilised wheat grass or chlorophyll tablets.
1 tablespoon of fresh aloe vera juice
1 teaspoon of ginger
1 tablespoon of vinegar
Shake and drink it immediately. Do this 2 or 3 times daily. Stools should start floating in a few days and urine should be yellow
after one week.
